Epoxy floor application with wide usage area and advantages

Surface Preparation:

As the first step of epoxy paint work; surface preparation shall be made in order to remove loose particles, low strength slurry layer and roughen the surface. Surface preparation should be done with vacuum shot blasting machine (Blastrac), marble polishing machine, diamond-tipped hand machines or rotatiger.
Reduce or prevent adherence; All kinds of dust, paint, oil, grease-like dirt should be cleaned from the surface. If there are layers where the oil penetrates too deep, these layers may need to be removed. Epoxy is not applied on an oily surface. Surfaces are made solid, clean and rough.
Epoxy primer will be applied to the prepared surfaces in the next stage. Epoxy primer is the binding layer between the surface and the paint to be made. It is very important that the surface preparation is performed in accordance with the technique in order for the primer to perform its duty and to adhere to the concrete.

Surface Repair:

Errors such as pits, cracks, fractures, segregation are made with epoxy primer and epoxy mortar. Repairs with depths greater than 4-5 mm can be made with cement based repair mortars suitable for epoxy coating. If the cracks are deep and there is a danger of water coming from the ground, it is necessary to fill the crack section by epoxy injection. If there is a possibility that the cracks will move and reflect on the coating over time, reinforcement with glass fiber should be considered for repairs. In some cases, moisture and water transfer cannot be prevented by epoxy injection. In these cases, reactive polyurethane injection should be applied to fill the crack section and the spaces underneath. In this case, moisture conditions and waiting times must be observed before applying epoxy.

Application Alternatives

A-Epoxy Paint Application

  1. Epoxy Primer Application:

The concrete surface was cleaned, cracked and joint repaired, and without moisture and water problems. Solvent free epoxy primer is applied to the surface. In preparing the epoxy material, component A (epoxy resin) is first mixed with a low speed mixer, slowly added to component B (epoxy hardener) while stirring, and stirring continues until the material is homogeneous. Material consumption varies according to surface conditions. Solvent-free epoxy primer should be impregnated with a single coat by roller. Epoxy primer; It fills the voids, increases the impact and chemical resistance of the surface, and at the same time ensures the subsequent coats of adhesion.

  1. First Coat Epoxy Paint Application:

Solvent-free Epoxy Primer applied surfaces should be protected from moisture, dust and air flow. It should not open to pedestrian or vehicle traffic in any way. Depending on the air and ambient temperature, 8 hours after the primer application, Solvent-free Epoxy Paint is applied in desired color with 0.300 kg / m2 consumption with pulling and roller. In preparing the epoxy material, component A (epoxy resin) is first mixed with a low speed mixer, slowly added to component B (epoxy hardener) while stirring continues and stirring continues until the mixture becomes homogeneous.

  1. Top Coat Epoxy Paint Application:

Solvent-free epoxy paint applied surfaces should be protected from moisture, dust and air flow and should not be opened to pedestrian or vehicle traffic in any way. Depending on the air and ambient temperature, solvent-free epoxy paint is applied 8 hours after the application of the intermediate coat epoxy paint. In preparing the epoxy material, component A (epoxy resin) is first mixed with a low speed mixer, slowly added to component B (epoxy hardener) while stirring continues and stirring continues until the mixture becomes homogeneous. Application process, the desired color; using roller and mop; 0.300 kg / m2 consumption is done. Depending on the weather and ambient temperature, the surface can be opened to pedestrian traffic within 48 hours.

B-Self Leveling Epoxy Application

  1. Epoxy Primer Application:

The concrete surface was cleaned, cracked and joint repaired, and without moisture and water problems. Dekapol CP115 solvent free epoxy primer is applied to the surface and silica - quartz filler is applied on it. In preparing the epoxy material, component A (epoxy resin) is first mixed with a low speed mixer, slowly added to component B (epoxy hardener) while stirring, and stirring continues until the material is homogeneous. Material consumption varies according to surface conditions. Dekapol CP115 solvent-free epoxy primer should be impregnated with a single coat by roller. Epoxy primer; It fills the voids, increases the impact and chemical resistance of the surface, and at the same time ensures the subsequent coats of adhesion.

  1. Epoxy Interlayer Application:

Dekapol CP115 Solvent Free Epoxy Primer applied surfaces should be protected from moisture, dust and air flow. It should not open to pedestrian or vehicle traffic in any way. Depending on the air and ambient temperature, Dekapol SL340 Solvent Free Epoxy Coating material is applied on it 8 hours after the primer application. Before application, loose materials on the surface with light filler are removed by sweeping with the help of industrial brooms. In preparing the epoxy intermediate layer material, component A (epoxy resin) is first mixed with a low speed mixer and slowly added to component B (epoxy hardener) while stirring is in progress. Once the material is homogeneous, component C (silica-quartz filler) is slowly added. After mixing for about 3 minutes, the application of intermediate coat can be started and applied with trowel in desired color.

  1. Self Leveling Epoxy Application:

Solvent-free epoxy intermediate surfaces should be protected from moisture, dust and air flow and should not be opened to pedestrian or vehicle traffic in any way. Depending on the air and ambient temperature, solvent-free epoxy coating material is applied 8 hours after the primer application. When preparing the epoxy self leveling topcoat material, component A (epoxy resin) is first mixed with a low speed mixer and slowly added to component B (epoxy hardener) while stirring is in progress. Once the material is homogeneous, component C (silica-quartz filler) is slowly added. After approximately 3 minutes of mixing, the application of the intermediate layer can be started. apply the desired color with a notched trowel or level comb and the air bubbles are removed with a hedgehog roller.According to the desired thickness, there will be 1.8 kg / m2 material consumption for 1 mm. When the application is finished, a very smooth and shiny surface is obtained. Depending on the weather and ambient temperature, the surface can be opened to pedestrian traffic within 48 hours.

C-MULTILAYER EPOXY APPLICATION

  1. Epoxy Primer Application:

The concrete surface was cleaned, cracked and joint repaired, and without moisture and water problems. Solvent-free epoxy primer is applied to the surface and silica-quartz filler is sprinkled on it. When preparing the epoxy material, first component A is mixed with the epoxy resin) low speed mixer, while stirring is slowly added to component B (epoxy hardener) and stirring continues until the material becomes homogeneous. Material consumption varies according to surface conditions. Solvent-free epoxy primer should be impregnated with a single coat by roller. Epoxy primer; It fills the gaps, increases the arbe and chemical resistance of the surface, and at the same time provides the subsequent coats to the surface.

  1. Multilayer Epoxy Coating I. Intermediate Application:

Surfaces where solvent-free epoxy primer is applied should be protected from moisture, dust and air flow and should not be opened to pedestrian or vehicle traffic in any way. Depending on the air and ambient temperature, solvent-free epoxy coating material is applied 8 hours after the primer application. Before application, loose materials on the surface sprinkled with filling are removed by sweeping with the help of industrial brooms.
